ADITC stands for Australian Drilling Industry Training Committee. This committee is the governing body that controls Drillers Licensing. They conduct courses for learning all aspects of the drilling industry.
The Water Drilling License classification system is based on the type of aquifer being drilled. Class 1 is restricted to water table aquifers. Class 2 permits the drilling of multiple aquifers. Class 3 permits the drilling of a flowing aquifer ei. artesian aquifers. Classes 5 and 6 licenses have mud drilling and gravel packing endorsements.
They also run correspondence courses for drillers in remote areas. Overseas drillers can also enrol in these courses as long as they have a good English reading and writing skills. All the materials have been written by industry experts.
The ADITC is hoping for a National licensing system to cover all of Australia instead of as it is now, individual states having different testing procedures and licenses.
