When the hole is drilled the casing is then lowered into the hole. PVC is by far the cheapest casing available. Unless other wise agreed to, we use a PVC screen. Stainless steel screens are much more efficient but much more expensive.
PVC will last for many years if not exposed to sunlight. As per regulations we encase the protruding PVC with a steel pipe casing with a sealing cap. This is to ensure animals and insects don’t enter the bore. The top of the hole is cemented to at least 5m from the surface to ensure rain water run off does not enter your bore, taking top soil with it.
All casing is glued and riveted together. Centralisers are used to keep the PVC centred in the hole.
