Most people don’t realise the importance of surface casing. It is sometimes seen as a extra added by the driller.
Any one who requests a bore with out this is not getting a quality bore for there money. This little extra cost ensures you are not going end up with a contaminated aquifer which may effect nearby bores also.
Surface casing is a very important part of quality bore construction. This casing is installed down to the first hard layer, which is generally some where around 5m to 20m,. depending on the area it can be much deeper. This casing is pushed down hard onto this hard layer which creates a seal. We use a class 9 200mm PVC.
